Description
After completing a comprehensive water test, your Acid Neutralizer System may be identified as needing service. Several components of the neutralizer system will be inspected and if necessary replaced:
- Media will need to be added to proper levels
- Control head many need to be adjusted, cleaned or replaced
How Important is the Service
Well water is neutral at a pH of 7.0. When well water passes through granite it can become acidic. If well water is below a pH of 6.5 it can start to affect the plumbing infrastructure because of the water’s acidity. Pinholes in copper pipes can start to form due to the etching of the piping from the acidic water. Green staining can should up on plumbing fixtures due to the copper being etched from the pipes and being deposited onto the fixtures. Lead can be etched from solder joints in older homes.
